Summit Metro Parks Mission
We conserve, sustainably manage and value natural resources for the health and enjoyment of our community, and inspire people to connect with nature through clean and safe parks.
Summit Metro Parks Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1991 to help donors create a lasting legacy by supporting the goals and mission of the park district.
The Foundation offers valuable, long-term continuity and steadfastness, helping to create and maintain our thriving park district. Your gift can help the Foundation enhance the work of the park district, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Your donation is highly valued, and there are many projects and programs to support. Summit Metro Parks manages more than 14,000 acres, featuring 16 parks, several conservation areas, and more than 150 miles of trails, including 22.4 miles of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Annual attendance is about 5 million visits.
The Foundation not only funds ongoing work for trails and physical facilities, but we also help park visitors engage by supporting these capital projects, as well as conservation work and educational programs.
Celebrating its centennial in 2021, Summit Metro Parks focuses on conservation. Because of this, the Foundation supports important ecological restorations, wildlife management and archeological studies, ensuring the protection of important artifacts and historical resources.
