Conservation Fund

The over 100-year-old Summit Metro Parks has a special focus on conservation, stewarding nature in the parks through ecological restorations and wildlife monitoring. There are over 264 of the rarest species on earth, including endangered species, protected by Summit Metro Parks. Conservation programs include citizen science projects and the cultural resources program that works to understand conserve the history and pre-history of the parks.

Your gift to the Conservation Fund will not only help to protect, restore and maintain the natural environment, it will also support efforts like the archeological digs at Cascade Valley Metro Park, ensuring that the park district can protect important artifacts and remain good stewards of our historical resources.

Endowment Fund

Summit Metro Parks Foundation’s Endowment Fund, held at the Akron Community Foundation, is an ideal way to make a gift that lasts.

A gift to the Endowment Fund means you’ll be providing financial stability not just for today, but for as long as we have parks, ensuring their beauty, protected environmental resources, and quality-of-life benefits for future generations.

The “Donate Now” button below takes you to the Summit Metro Parks Foundation Endowment Fund held at the Akron Community Foundation. Donors will receive responses from both organizations. Please allow up to four weeks for an acknowledgment letter from the Summit Metro Parks Foundation, since we are notified monthly of Endowment Fund gifts.
