The scenic Munroe Falls Metro Park serves walkers, runners and cyclers of all ages through a variety of trails and activities. The nearby Freedom Trail is a greenway connecting Akron and Kent, and the many communities between. Although short in length, the long-awaited connector will provide a parking and access point at the longest stretch of the Freedom Trail without a trailhead. In 2027, we’ll be connecting these two Summit Metro Parks properties and providing a new access point to miles of scenic greenway to even more residents, ensuring that these amenities are available to everyone.
The Munroe Falls-Freedom Trail Connector will begin at the southeasternmost parking lot of the Munroe Falls Metro Park Lake Area, located at 521 S River Road in Munroe Falls. The 1/4-mile paved connector trail will be 10 feet wide and intersect with the Freedom Trail. Both the new connector trail and the Freedom Trail are ADA accessible.
